The George Fox University Center for Peace and Justice hopes to engage the community at its 29th annual Woolman Peacemaking Forum, a public event that will take place March 3-5 at its Newberg and Portland campuses.
The theme will be People of Peace: Effective Faith-Rooted Advocacy and pastor and advocate Alexia Salvatierra will be featured.
Salvatierra is the special assistant to the bishop for welcoming congregations for the Southwest California Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He also serves as adjunct faculty member at the New York Theological Seminary and Biola University.
Salvatierra will speak at a missional ecclesiology course from 7 to 10 p.m. March 3 in room 265 at the Portland Center.
The main evening session March 4 will be the first of Woolman Peacemaking Forum itself, which does not require a reservation and will be held in Room 105 of the Hoover Academic building in Newberg.
The forum will continue with a morning session from 10:40 to 11:30 a.m. in the main chapel at Bauman Auditorium.
