Traditional Irish dance comes to Newberg
Dance After teaching dance all over Washington and Oregon, Sam Keator brings Irish Dance to town
Sam Keator has taught Irish dance all over Oregon and Washington. He and his wife visit Ireland almost every year to learn new dances and share upon their return. Their goal is to promote traditional Irish entertainment for family events and he is continuing his tradition of sharing Irish culture with the people of Newberg.
Keator has created Irish cultural activities in Tualatin, and most recently in Newberg, according to a press release. The class is to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday at the Newberg Grange, 216 N. Springbrook Road. The class is designed for ages 12 and up. It is drop-in style, costing $5 per week. Keator will teach and call the traditional dances, as well as share his love for the Irish culture.
