Performing artist to honor local veterans
To honor area veterans, active military and their families, law enforcement and firefighters, Linda Lanier is performing a patriotic program at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Amity Assembly of God. She is also performing at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8 at the Amity Assembly of God. For more information, call Heidi Cook at 971-270-7951.
Charity bike ride will benefit people with disabilities
The annual Harvest Century charity bike ride starts and ends Sept. 29 at the Civic Center in Hillsboro, winding through Yamhill County along the way. There are four routes available: a three-mile family route as well as 45-, 75- and 100-mile rides. Each route includes a rest stop at Montinore Vineyards for wine tasting.
All proceeds benefit Community Vision, a nonprofit organization providing housing, supported living and homeownership services to people with disabilities.
