Let the cameras roll
McMINNVILLE The Third Annual McMinnville Short Film Festival is accepting entries from now until Sept. 16. Films may be submitted in any genre. They must be shorter than 15 minutes in length, but there is no limit to the number of films an individual may submit. However, a $20 registration fee is required for each entry. For more information, visit www.mcminnvillefilmfest.org. The film festival showcases an array of documentaries, music videos, comedies, suspense, horror, dramas, stop-action and animated films, with the goal of providing a venue for aspiring filmmakers to be seen and heard. It will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Gallery Theater in McMinnville.

Newberg FUMC plans community fair
Newberg First United Methodist Church will host a community fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The event includes food, games, prizes, fun and home-grown vegetables. Activities for all ages are planned and everything is free. For more information, call 503-538-5404.
