Business takes over space formerly held by Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce

While the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce's old downtown location at 115 N. College Street was too small for them, the space will give its new occupant, Ticor Title, room to grow.

As the Chamber moved its offices to 2119 Portland Road for a bigger two-story location last year, the escrow and title company's Newberg branch traded its old spot at 1505 Portland Road to the building in the heart of downtown for more space for working and fun.

Branch manager Tim Ciulla, said the business recently added a new staff member and the extra room is coming in handy.

But beyond the extra room, Ciulla said the uniqueness of the space is what drew them, including a vineyard-themed mural across the front office area. Ciulla noted that he and the staff decorated the rest of the office to match the mural and give the office "more of a flavor of the area."

"The cool building is actually what drew us to that spot," he said.

In addition, the rear entrance has a recreational area where the business has added a shuffleboard table, a dart board and a bar in the back, "which is very unusual for a title company," Ciulla noted.

He said they would like to use that space as an entertainment area as well as a place to host other businesses and visitors as part of First Friday Art Walk.
