Congress The Whole Child Resolution encourages cooperation between federal agencies
1st District Rep. Suzanne Bonamici and Rodney Davis (R-Illinois) introduced a bipartisan resolution recognizing the importance of the whole child approach to education last week.
The Whole Child Resolution acknowledges the benefits for students when they are healthy, safe, challenged and supported by adults who are caring and act as good role models, according to a press release from Bonamicis office.
It also encourages the federal government to assist in coordinating amongst agencies that support the education, health, and safety of American youth.
The whole child approach recognizes the importance on having every child in every school be healthy, safe, engaged, and challenged, Bonamici said. This resolution calls attention to the role of parents, guardians, and community members as well as educators in helping students succeed.
