ODOT opens bids, starts summer paving project
The Oregon Department of Transportation is moving forward with projects in the Newberg-Dundee area. Continuing work with the Newberg-Dundee Bypass, bids are now being accepted for the next segment of Phase 1 D. This phase will complete work in Dundee and stop at Waterfront Road, which acts as a divider between part D and E. Bids will open for part E in August.
Construction that is separate from bypass work will also begin soon with the hiring of Kerr Contractors to complete a Highway 99W paving project. Kerr will start sidewalk curb ramp improvements mid-June and then start paving work on the highway in July. The project spans seven miles, starting at OR 240 and ending at McDougal Junction in Dundee.
ODOT expects motorist delays from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. The $4.2 million project should be completed in October.
