Altercation ends in stabbing, arrest at Newberg trailer park
Public safety NDPD officers arrest William Adams on charges of menacing and assault after he attacked roommate and her boyfriend
Officers responding to a report of an escalating altercation at a west Newberg trailer park arrived April 18 to find a very chaotic scene with several people outside the trailers yelling and screaming, according to a report from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.
Eventually, the report said, officers determined that one of the parks residents, Christina Garcio, was allegedly assaulted by her roommate, William Bill Adams, 57, while she was moving items from one trailer to another located in the park. Garcio reportedly received minor injuries to her stomach and mouth during the first round of the altercation.
Things had appeared to calm down, nearby residents told officers, when Garcio returned to her trailer to gather more things. Adams reportedly came at Garcio with a butcher knife when her boyfriend, Kristopher Schneider, pushed her out of the way and attempted to disarm Adams.
Adams then assaulted Schneider, who suffered a laceration to his right forearm and was transported to Providence Newberg Medical Center, where he was treated and released the same day.
Adams was arrested and charged with two counts of menacing and second- and fourth-degree assault. He was transported to the Yamhill County jail in McMinnville to await arraignment. No bail was set.
