City Council consider appointments, evaluations
The April 21 Newberg City Council meeting will mostly consist of appointments and evaluations.
Helen Brown will be considered for a position on the budget committee, serving until Dec. 31, 2015. There is also a motion to appoint Boldt Carlisle + Smith as the citys auditors for the fiscal year, which ends June 30.
As for evaluations, the annual evaluation of the municipal judge is up for adoption, with City Attorney Truman Stone up for review after six months on the job.
There will be a public hearing considering an order that would require the removal of an unauthorized driveway located at 3220 E. Hancock St. The issue arose when the property owners were notified that they were in violation of the Newberg Municipal Code referring to nuisances. The owners, according to the agenda, requested approval for construction of a driveway in front of their property. The request was denied by the city, but there is now a planter strip on front of the property filled with concrete blocks and ramps were placed in the gutter. If passed, the owners would have to remove the driveway within 10 days.
Continued from the March 7 meeting, the council will also consider a motion to adopt a revised engineering fee schedule.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. April 21 at the Public Safety Building. To view the agenda, visit http://bit.ly/1eqkDjg.
