The Painted Lady recently welcomed a new staff member, pastry chef Brandon Weeks.
Weeks utilizes spices, local flowers and expertise in creating classic European dishes.
Brandon and I are really in tune with each other, said chef and owner Allen Routt. I love his ability to explore beyond the traditional and add a surprising twist to classic recipes. For example, the cocoa panna cotta has a spicy kick, using cayenne from French Guiana. Brandon has an elegant touch.
Weeks comes to Newberg from Urban Farmer and Portland City Grill.
Im very excited to work with tasting menus again. The possibilities for creativity are just endless, Weeks said. This wouldnt be possible elsewhere. Its a unique privilege to work in a small, craft-driven kitchen.
