Springbrook property will be put to a vote
At the Jan. 21 Newberg City Council meeting, the property at 108 S. Springbrook Road was annexed into the city limits, pending a May public vote, and allowing it to be re-zoned for apartment development.
Slated for the Feb. 3 meeting, the council will review Lee Elliott and his performance as the assistant city manager. This review is typically conducted by the city manager, but as Elliott is the interim city manager after the departure of former city manager Dan Danicic last summer, the mayor and city council will conduct Elliotts evaluation.
On Nov. 4, his probation was lifted, which included a 5 percent pay increase and a continuation of the 5 percent increase given as an adjusted salary for his work as interim city manager. With this evaluation, Elliott will receive another 5 percent increase bringing his annual salary to $100,695.
The council will also consider a resolution to authorize Elliott to enter into a contract with CivilWorks NW Inc. to install a new ductile iron water main on North College Street, fixing the current inadequate vertical cover of the existing waterline. The project will cost $393,125. Upon completion, the Oregon Department of Transportation will complete construction of the Bike Lane and Sidewalk Improvement Project on North College Street in the summer.
