Public safety Newberg-Dundee Community Response team uses social media in apprehending a Dundee woman, charged with prostitution
Members of the Newberg-Dundee Police Departments Community Response Team (CRT) and local detectives arrested a Dundee woman last week during an undercover prostitution sting.
Christina Marie Fleck, 34, used a social media site to advertise her adult services, according to a press release. CRT and detectives used her social media profile to help execute the sting operation, but would not divulge the social media site.
At approximately 11 a.m. Dec. 11, Fleck arrived at a prearranged meeting spot in Newberg, set up through the social media site, and was taken into custody.
While police declined to identify which social media site Fleck used, or the process that was used in this particular prostitution sting, Capt. Jeff Kosmicki did say, We came across her profile on social media.
Fleck was booked and released on a charge for prostitution.
Kosmicki said that while the CRT does not execute sting operations on a regular basis, the team did come across Flecks social media profile and then set up the sting.
The CRT is a group of officers that respond to nuisance issues that officers would not ordinarily have time for. Kosmicki said that drug houses, problem houses in neighborhoods, prostitution, chronic noise complaints or other livability issues are typically what the CRT responds to.
