Police arrest resident in alleged machete attack
Public safety After threatening roommates, Noah Royce Norton turns himself in Saturday
After a Newberg resident reported his roommate was intoxicated and threatening another roommate with a machete, Newberg-Dundee Police were on the look-out on Saturday.
However, they didnt have to look too far when the suspect, Noah Royce Norton, 25, turned himself in later that day.
At about 2:45 a.m., Newberg-Dundee Dispatch received the call of the alleged assault. Officers responded to 1110 S. Pennington Drive, where they learned Norton had fled the scene.
During the event, Norton menaced two roommates. He was wanted on charges of second-degree assault, menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.
At about noon, Norton turned himself in at the Public Safety building. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Yamhill County jail on the same charges.
The victim, Nortons roommate, was transported to Providence Newberg Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries to his hand and has since been released.
