Land use Planning Commission approves 44-lot subdivision in north Newberg pending ?safety improvements
After much public discussion, the Terra Estates subdivision application was approved for construction by the Newberg Planning Commission at the Sept. 12 meeting.
This means construction can begin on the 44-lot subdivision located on 7.9 acres off Terrace Drive. Barton Brierley, the citys planning and building director, said there are a few things the developers have to do before construction can actually begin.
There was quite a bit of discussion about particular regulations for the subdivision. For example, they have to do some safety improvements to a nearby intersection and neighbors wanted a stop sign at a particular intersection, Brierley said, adding the commission decided that was warranted and needed to be installed.
He said the developers have two years to submit their plans for improvements and get them approved.
At this point, Brierley said only those who participated in the previous hearings can appeal the decision to the city council.
