Newberg man arrested on sex abuse allegations
Public safety Gregory Allen Fowler, 53, faces a charge of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration
A Newberg man was arrested Tuesday on allegations he sexually molested a child he was babysitting.
The Newberg-Dundee Police Department was notified of the alleged crime on Aug. 24, according to an NDPD release. Gregory Allen Fowler voluntarily submitted to an interview on Tuesday at the and, based information from that interview, was arrested and transported to the jail in McMinnville.
Fowler is charged with first-degree unlawful sexual penetration. Security was set at $150,000; Fowler would have to post 10 percent ($15,000) of that amount in order to secure bail and be released.
The NDPD doesnt anticipate filing any additional charges against Fowler, Capt. Jeff Kosmicki said Tuesday.
I believe we have completed this investigation unless someone (unknown to us at this time) comes forward, he said, adding that Fowler is someone known to several local police officers.
Police wouldnt disclose the name, age or sex of the alleged victim and the NDPD is the only agency involved in investigating the crime.
