Carolyn A. Altringer
Newberg resident Carolyn Armenta Altringer died July 23, 2013. She was 74.
She was born May 11, 1939, in Grand Coulee Dam, Wash., to Paul and Alma (Murphy) Patrick.
She worked as a phlebotomist and lab technician. She enjoyed horseback riding and dog training. She lived in Newberg for 45 years.
Survivors include daughter Tracy, of Portland; sons Jim, of Beaverton, Andy, of McMinnville, and Jeff, of Amity; sister Paula Nelsen, of McMinnville; brother Mike Murphy, of Clackamas; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Dan.
A memorial was held July 27 at The Potters House Christian Fellowship Church in McMinnville.
Vicki L. Dawson
Newberg resident Vicki Louise Dawson died July 19, 2013. She was 71.
She was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Bellevue, Wash., to Clayton and Evelyn Blue.
Survivors include husband Michael Peterson, of Newberg; sons Clayton, Jerry, Gary, Thomas, John and Christopher Dawson; daughters Louise Greiner, Linda Garrity and Janene Dawson; 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Terry, first husband Thomas Dawson and brother Gary.
A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 17 at Rock Point Church in Newberg.
