Provide input on Madras' transportation plans

The city of Madras will hold an open house to gather information from the public for its transportation system plan.

If you walk, bike, drive or take transit in the city of Madras, the city wants to hear from you at an open house Tuesday, March 7.

The public is encouraged to drop in at the open house any time from 4-7 p.m. in the community meeting room at the Central Oregon Community College Madras campus, at 1170 E. Ashwood Road, to review projects and provide feedback.

Among the proposed projects are possible improvements for U.S. Highway 97 at the south end of Madras, and the city's bicycle, pedestrian and transit systems.

Talk to city staff and share your experiences. English and Spanish language interpretation and materials will be available. Families are welcome, and snacks will be available.

Information from the meeting will be used to help the city as it works to update its transportation system plan. Last year, the city formed a Public Advisory Committee to assist in developing recommendations for the plan. Members will be on hand to get input from the public.
