Jefferson County's annual contest is gearing up for 2017, with weigh-ins Jan. 20-21.
Movin' Mountains — a Jefferson County-wide contest for losing weight and adopting healthier lifestyles — is gearing up for 2017.
Anyone 18 or older can compete in Movin' Mountains, individually and/or in a two-person team. The entry fee is $25 per event entered, and all entry fees go to the prize pools. The divisions include individual men and women competitions, and two-person mens, womens and mixed pairs.
The contest combines percent of weight loss and hip and waist reduction during the 16-week contest. The competitions will be broken into weight classes, which are roughly configued to have an even number of people in each.
The weigh-in/measurement dates will be Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20-21, at the Jefferson County Public Health Department, 715 S.W. Fourth St. Friday's weigh-in will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday's from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will also be a weigh-in/measurement at the Warm Springs Diabetes Prevention office on Friday, Jan. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
