Colton places 5th in Cougar Classic


 - Viking Kody Spurgeon, who took fourth place at 113 pounds in Gervais this weekend.The Colton High School wrestling team took fifth place with 115 points at the Cougar Classic in Gervais on Saturday. In all, 18 teams competed in the tournament, and Colton had six wrestlers place.

At 145 pounds, Gabe Babcock came in fifth and secured 15 points for Colton. Three of the Vikings took fourth-place finishes: Kody Spurgeon in the 113-pound class, Dylan Rose at 120 pounds and Nick Finch at 195 pounds. Both Kody Spurgeon and Rose nabbed 18 points each for Colton.

Two of the Vikings finished second: Tony Hayes at 152 pounds, with 24 points, and Scott Germany at 195 pounds, with 18 points.

113 pounds: Kody Spurgeon (3-2), 4th Place, 18 points

120 pounds: Dylan Rose (4-2), 4th Place, 18 points
