Soccer update


Boys first loss of the season

Molalla’s boys soccer team lost 1-0 to the La Salle Falcons on Tuesday. It was Molalla’s first lost of the season. The team is now third in the Tri-Valley Conference, 3-1-3 in league and 5-3-3 overall.

La Salle (5-1-1) tops the league, and Madras (4-1-2) is second.

With three games left in the regular season, the Indians still have a shot at making playoffs. This week they play Estacada (0-7) on the road on Tuesday and North Marion (3-2-2) at home on Thursday.

Their last league game is against Madras on Tuesday, Oct. 29. Following that game, the league rankings will freeze and the Indians will know if they get a chance in playoffs.

Girls lose 1-0 to La Salle

Molalla’s girls soccer team is also third in league. They faced La Salle last week as well, and just like the boys came out with a 1-0 loss. It was the girls second loss in a row and their third of the season. They’re currently 3-3-1 in league and 4-6-1 overall.

La Salle (7-0) is at the top of the league, and Gladstone (5-1-1) is second.

This week they face Estacada (2-3-2) on Tuesday at home and North Marion (0-5-2) on Thursday on the road.

Their last league game, against Madras (0-5-2), is at home on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
