Volleyball: Indians take 1-1 week

Molalla had another 1-1 week on the court. As the end of the season nears, Coach Carol Grauer is happy with how her girls are doing.

“We started the week against Estacada, playing very well yet losing in 3 games, 19-25, 17-25 and 19-25,” she said. “We were right with them, tied most of the games till the later part. As I explained to the team, the difference was just six points … Really can not play much better than that. As our team stats will show we played very well.”

The Indians serving was at 89 percent, with a serve receive of 62 percent. Setting was at 89 percent and attacks 79 percent.

Ashley Johnson took 12 points, four blocks, four kills and two digs. Defensive specialist Ashley Alexander got four digs and was at 100 percent serving, going 10 for 10. Janelle Ferlan led the team with six blocks for the night. Setters Helen Daniels and Katelin Satyna kept their numbers up as well, with 92 setting percentage.

Next, the Indians played North Marion in their final home match and senior night. Molalla took the game 3-0, with set scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-15.

“We have four seniors on the team, and they all did fantastic for their final home match,” Grauer said. “They all did an outstanding job and enjoyed being honored with family and friends.”

The seniors on the team are Janelle Ferlan, Katelin Satyna, Ashley Alexander and Natalie Hobgood.
