Sports: volleyball and basketball

Molalla Pioneer: Who are your sports heroes and why?

Audrey Barden: LaMarcus Aldridge because he is such a diverse palyer who has been a two-time all star who also starts for my favorite team, the Portland Trail Blazers.

If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

Ted Dekker, because he is a great author.

Who is your favorite coach and why?

I actually have two favorite coaches. Janin McGrath, because she was so patient with me being a new volleyball player last year, and coach Russell Halverson, for being patient with me as I was recovering from a foot surgery.

What makes a good coach?

Patience for your players, dedication to your team, knowledge of the game, and a love for coaching.

What’s the most exciting time you had on the court?

The volleyball game last year against Jewell that put us into state playoffs.

What drives you to succeed?

I am very passionate about sports. I always work hard on playing better than my last game.

What are your goals after high school?

I want to go to college to become a beautician.

How do you balance sports and school work?

I just work really hard to get as much done during the day as possible.

What do you do outside of sports?

I like to mostly hangout with family and friends on downtime.

What’s your favorite movie, TV show, book and band?

Movie: Waiting for Forever. TV show: Pretty Little Liars. Book: Pilgrim’s Progress. Band: My Chemical Romance.
