Country Christian's eight-game winning streak

The Cougars are killing it this season. They added two more sweeping wins to their record last week. They’re now on an eight-game winning streak, seven games of which have ended in shutouts. The only team in the league to beat them is first-ranked St. CORY MIMMS - Miranda Halverson taking the spike.

They played Crosshill Christian on Tuesday.

“I thought we started a little slow in games one and two,” Coach Janin McGrath said, “but we battled for every point and were able to come from behind and get the win. In game three I thought the girls settled in and played great, especially defensively. We started digging the line hits, and that helped us get in the flow of our offense.”

“Thursday’s win over Veritas was a big win based on what is going on in our league at the moment,” McGrath said. “CS Lewis beat St. Paul that same evening. CS Lewis’ best player is healthy and they are coming on strong late in the season. We have them twice this week and we will have our hands full. We have three league games left and need to win one of the three to secure second or third place going into our District tournament.”
