Soccer: Massive blowout game

Indians defeat Estacada Rangers 8-0.

by: CORY MIMMS - Benito Ortiz-Mendoza slips through Estacada's defense. Molalla’s boys soccer team displayed complete dominance against Estacada, as the Indians took a decisive 8-0 victory on Thursday.

From the start, Molalla controlled the ball and fired shot after shot on goal. The Ranger’s keeper kept the Indians from getting on the board early with a few diving saves and quick scoops, but given the amount of time the ball spent in Estacada territory, Molalla was bound to begin racking up goals eventually.

Midway through the first half, Darian Baughman cut through Estacada’s defense and put one in the net. The rest of the game continued in a similar fashion, with Molalla keeping on the pressure as the clock ticked down.

Estacada fought hard for possession, but they couldn’t put the pieces together to stop Molalla's offense.

By the end of the first half, with the score 3-0, Estacada’s frustration began to show.

The Indians didn’t let up though. They came out in the second half shooting and pushed the score to 8-0.
