Smyrna UCCDid you know that Molalla has lots of brain health resources for older adults right here in town?

PIONEER FILE PHOTO - Cecily RoseCecily Rose, Director of the Molalla Adult Community Center, will be our featured speaker for Smyrna's Memory Café to be held Friday, March 3rd at noon.

Research shows that things like healthy nutrition and regular exercise for balance, strength, flexibility, and stamina are extremely important for keeping one's brain healthy as one ages.

In addition, getting out and visiting with friends, and meeting new people is good for your brain as it involves the type of "thinking on your feet" that isn't demanded by TV or a crossword puzzle.

There are a wide range of opportunities for each of these things at the Molalla Adult Community Center, as well as at other area Senior Centers, such as the Canby Adult Center, or Center 50+ in Salem. Molalla also offers brain games each month, and other ways to help you keep your mind active.

Smyrna's Memory Café on Friday, March 3 from noon to 1:30 p.m. will include other brain health information, handouts, and activities, and will include a light lunch.

There is no cost, although free-will donations are accepted for lunch. Reservations are required by Wednesday, March 1st by calling 503-689-4450.
