Molalla's new Fox Park Splash Pad opened Friday

“It’s all about the kids,” the mayor said later. “I was afraid last nights lightening storm would spoil the dedication this morning."

Construction of the $120,000 project kicked off in June with a July 31 completion date.

Rogge said the city used the last of the Sally Fox donation for the park, about $96,000, to rebuild the existing splash pad, and then used Parks and Recreation funds to cover the balance of the costs.

The project also includes a hook-up for a future security light for the area.
