A local farmer was hospitalized Friday after a car crashed into the tractor he was driving on Barlow Road between Molalla and Canby.
Todd Gary of the Canby Fire District said at 9:08 a.m., Feb. 28, the tractor was moving from one field to the next when it was struck from behind, causing the tractor to flip over, and trapping the operator in the cab.
The farmer was able to free himself before firefighters arrived, but was injured, Gary said.
The operator of the tractor was taken by Lifeflight to a trauma center. The driver of the car was not injured.
Units from Molalla Fire, Canby Fire, Clackamas Fire and Aurora Fire districts responded. Whenever driving in rural areas, be alert to possible slow moving vehicles on the road, Gary said.
