Drunk driver knocks out power to Beavercreek residents
A Beavercreek man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving early Tuesday morning after the car he was driving crashed into a power pole.
At 3:21 a.m. Tuesday, Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies found a 2000 Cadillac Seville crashed into a power pole on Beavercreek Road near Dans Avenue.
The impact had enough force to shear off the pole, causing power lines to drop across the road. The damage caused a loss of power in surrounding neighborhoods, said Lt. Robert Wurpes, spokesman for the Clackamas County Sheriffs Office.
The driver, Kyle Douglas Rosenlof, 23, of Beavercreek, was driving alone and was not injured in the crash, Wurpes said. During the investigation, deputies noted Rosenlof showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and transported to the Clackamas County Jail on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUI). Portland General Electric had power restored to the area by Tuesday afternoon.
