Dec. 6 and Dec. 8

The Molalla Community Choir will host two Christmas concerts, held on Dec. 6 from 7-9 p.m. and Dec. 8 from 4-8 p.m.

The first, “A Christmas Delight on a Winter Night”, at Smyrna United Church of Christ (31119 S. Hwy 170, Canby) will feature select Christmas music selections and a carol sing-along for the audience; attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods to help address the needs of the community.

The second, a Molalla senior citizen benefit concert, “O Night Divine!”, will take place from 4-8 p.m. on Dec. 8, at Grace Church, 901 N. Molalla Ave. Proceeds will be donated to the Molalla Adult Center. The event will feature the Estacada Madrigal Singers, and is the fourth of the Artist Series Concerts featuring various local artists and music groups, most from Clackamas County. The Molalla Community Choir will also be supporting the Molalla High School by performing in the Singing Christmas Tree Concerts, from Dec. 12-14. Call 503-829-5568 for more information.

Beavercreek Winter Concert

Dec. 7

A Winter Dinner Concert, “The Ten O’Clock Church,” will be held at the United Church of Christ, (23345 S. Beavercreek Road.) on Dec. 7. Dinner will be held at 6 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for 3- to 10-year-old children, and free for children under 3 years. The dinner, prepared by Chef Greg Hettman, will feature beef shepherd pies, salad and dinner rolls, and include a dessert and beverage. The event will also feature Grammy Award Nominee, Ellen Whyte. Molalla Singing Christmas Tree

Dec. 12, 13 and 14

Molalla Singing Christmas Tree production of “Christmas in Oz will be held Dec. 12-14.

Molalla High School Choral Director Tim Friesen and retired teacher Randy Fischer wrote the narration and lyrics.

Two hundred fifty performers in seven groups from the schools and community make up the cast and chorus, and all the main cast members are students from the MHS choral department. The promotional poster was created by MHS graphic arts student Augustine Cuevas.

This will be the 19th year of the MHS Singing Christmas tree. Three days of performances will be held: Thursday Dec. 12 at 7 p.m., Friday Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. and two performances. Saturday Dec. 14, a matinee at 1 p.m. and the final performance at 7 p.m. at the Molalla River Civic Auditorium, Molalla High School.

Advance tickets can be purchased at Cutter’s Hi-School Pharmacy and Molalla High School. Ticket prices are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. For the matinee only, admission for senior citizens 65 and older is $5. For more information, call 503-829-SING.
