Man appeared to have lost control of his cycle on a 90 degree curve about two miles from Mulino

by: PEGGY SAVAGE - Canby paramedics work on an injured motorcyclist on Mulino Road Thursday eveningA motorcyclist suffered a concussion when he lost control of his cycle on a sharp curve near the 11900 block of South Mulino Road, about two miles from Mulino Thursday evening.

At about 5:20 p.m. Faron Michael Bennett, 27, of Molalla, was found lying on the roadside by a passing motorist, who called 9-1-1. Bennett's green 1999 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle landed about 50 feet away in the stubble of a farmer’s grain field. There did not appear to be any other vehicles involved in the crash.

by: CANBY FIRE DISTRICT - Canby paramedics arrived shortly after the accident and transported the victim to a Portland trauma center.The motorist stayed with Bennett until after a Clackamas County Sheriff's deputy arrived at the scene at about 5:30 p.m.

Three units from the Canby Fire District arrived five minutes later. Firefighters transported Bennett to OHSU trauma center in Portland.

A family member said Friday that Bennett has a "severe concussion" but as of Friday afternoon, his condition is improving. She said there were no fractures, but he had severe abrasions and bruising and is still in a "confused state."

Bennett was wearing a helmet, said Sgt. Robert Wurpes, a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

The accident is under investigation.
