Woman injured on Molalla River Sunday

Life Flight helicopter landed on Molalla field to transport woman to OHSU

A Life Flight helicopter was called in Sunday afternoon when a 43-year-old Mount Angel woman was injured on the Molalla River.

Molalla Fire District recieved a call at about 4:45 p.m. Sunday from the woman's family, saying she slipped on a rock in the river and was seriously injured. The accident happened in an area with no cell coverage, so the family drove the injured woman to Feyrer Park near Molalla, where they arranged to be met by paramedics from the Molalla Fire District, said Molalla Paramedic Clint Shaver.

Shaver said the paramedics at the scene determined that a Life Flight helicopter would be needed.

The helicopter landed in a field owned by MaryJane Sharp off Feyrer Park Road, where it was met by the Molalla ambulance transporting the woman.

The woman's name was not released.
