Learn to make hanging baskets at class

Love those fabulous hanging baskets that grace our city streets? Learn to make them in a class offered through Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation just in time for Mother’s Day. Join us at Luscher Farm for the annual making of the Lake Oswego hanging basket. Leave with your own creation that complements your home’s color theme. Classes are offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 3 at Luscher Farm, 125 Rosemont Road, for ages 16 and older. Cost is $33.

Adult Learn to Row. Learn to Row classes include instruction in both sweep and sculling, depending upon interest. Both can advance to the Master’s Program after successful completion of a Learn to Row class. All classes are four weeks long, meeting two times each week. Ages 18 and older, 10 a.m. to noon Sundays, April 27 to June 15, $130.

LOCR Masters Program. Experienced adult rowers interested in fitness, improving technique or competing in regattas, can join the LOCR Masters Rowing program. Whether you are an experienced rower or relatively new, our coaching staff can hone your skills and bring your rowing to a new level. Ages 18 and older, 5:15 to 7:15 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, May 1 to 31, $100.

Local History Walking Tour - George Rogers Park. Tour Lake Oswego’s first park, George Rogers Park, at State and Ladd streets, and the historically significant iron furnace. Hear about local folklore, the ecology of the area and the wildlife nearby. You may see eagles, heron, osprey and other types of birds on the trails. Wheelchair and stroller accessible. All ages, 3 to 5 p.m. May 3, $5.

Bob Ross Oil Painting - Evening Waterfall. With the fantastic Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet Technique®, masterpieces that you never dreamed possible will flow from your brush. This easy step-by-step class takes beginners to seasoned painters from blank canvas to a finished masterpiece in one class. All supplies provided. Ages 12 and older, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 1, $48. This class will also be offered at the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center, 505 G Ave., from 1 to 4:30 p.m. April 29.

Walk with Ease. Start the day off right with an evidenced based walking program from the Arthritis Foundation to reduce pain and improve health. This new class offers gentle, gradual movement, with journaling. Meet in the ACC Oak room for stretching then head out for a 30-minute walk in First Addition. Class includes book guide. Ages 18 and older, 8 to 9 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 1 to June 12, $16. Register through the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center, 503-635-3758.
