Coming soon to a mailbox near you is The Living 50+ newsletter. Found in your HelloLO, this newsletter gives a detailed guide for classes and activities offered through the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center. Learn how to tweet in the Twitter computer class.

Join the choral group and sing your heart out with other music lovers. Get a strong body with our fitness courses. We offer such classes as walking, Zumba and a total body workout. Enjoy our on-going activities that range from bridge and mahjong to a weekly movie.

We serve lunch three days a week and the menu is listed in the newsletter. The center is about community and support, helping to enrich lives and our newsletter is the perfect guide to a healthy, happy life after 50.

Call 503-635-3758 to register for classes, events and make lunch reservations. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and older and $5 for everyone else. The ACC fitness room is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Center membership and orientation required to access equipment. Contact the center for more information.

Here are some of the activities coming up at LOACC in the coming week:

Friday, March 28

Quilters in Stitches, the center’s quilting group, meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. working cooperatively on various quilting projects. Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to join the group. From 10 a.m. to noon meet with the investment group to discuss stocks and bonds. The kind folks from the Lake Oswego Fire Department and Etal will be serving some delicious baked chicken and Marionberry coffee cake.

Monday, March 31

LO Weekly Walkers meet at 9:15 a.m. in the lobby prior to departure. Contact Krstl Robbins at 503-635-0041 for more information. The ACC learning group meets at 9:30 a.m. for an always interesting Q & A session. Ahoy matey! Come and join us for some cod with lemon butter sauce. And the best part is the chocolate chip cookies served by the Lake Grove Lions Club.

Tuesday, April 1

Pre-arranged bridge meets from noon to 3 p.m. for open play. Contact Sharon Paz at 503-636-9757. No cost but ACC membership required.

Wednesday, April 2

Craving holiday food? Home Street Bank is serving ham with cranberry sauce, yams and chocolate pudding. The weekly supervised computer lab runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. No cost or registration required.

Thursday, April 3

Every Tuesday and Thursday we provide respite, a time for music, lunch, story sharing and other activities. This offers caregivers a break to do errands, relax or catch up on some needed sleep. Call Berta at the center to register for the program.
