Pacers shine at Wilsonville Invite

The girls win the competitive event while the boys take third


by: VERN UYETAKE - Lakeridge's Julian Heninger captured the 1500 in a time of 4:04.03 at last weekend's Wilsonville Invitational. The Pacer girls edged out Clackamas to win the Invite while the boys team finished in third place. The Lakeridge track teams had terrific showings at the Wilsonville Invite over the weekend with the girls winning the 18-team competition by 1.5 points. The Pacer boys took third place in the event.

The girls put up positive results across the board. Sprinter Marissa Miller finished second in both the 100 and the 200 while Sydney Lautze finished sixth in the 400.

In the 800, Andi Bisbjerg made the finals and took fifth. All three of Lakeridge's runners in the 3000 placed in the top 10 with Kelly O'Neill winning the event in 10:29.61, Laura Suzuki taking seventh and Laura Manning finishing in ninth.

In the 100 hurdles, Sydney Borgeson took seventh while Saskia McNairy finished fifth in the 300 hurdles.

Lakeridge took third in both relays. The 4x100 team of Ranya Al-Khaledy, Madi Greenleaf, Lautze and Miller finished in 50.6 seconds while the 4x400 team of Lautze, Bisbjerg, McNairy and Greenleaf crossed the line in 4:12.25.

In the field, freshman Maddie Rabing continued her tear, winning both the shot put and the discus.

Kelsey Walker took fifth in the javelin while Maddie Moxness placed second in the high jump.

In the pole vault, Nicole Kangas also finished second. She would go on to take eighth in the triple jump as well.

McNairy capped a strong day overall with a second-place finish in the long jump.

For the boys, Alex Alamida won the 100 in a time of 11.19 seconds. He was also third in the 200.

Michael Walker was the runner-up in the 400, finishing in just under 51 seconds.

Colton Ansberry and Corrado Pitari took third and seventh respectively in the 800 while Julian Heninger won the 1500 in 4:04.03.

In the hurdles, Reilly Kirk took eighth in the 110 and fifth in the 300. Lakeridge's 4x400 relay team of Alamida, Ansberry, Pitari and Merrick Sanders scored a fifth place finish.

In the field, Andrew Clark cleared six feet to take fourth place in the high jump. Alamida racked up another victory for Lakeridge, winning the long jump with a leap of 20'11”.

Pitari would take fourth in the triple jump.
