Lake Oswego Police Chief Don Johnson and school Superintendent Heather Beck will be among the community members honored next weekend at the Chamber of Commerce's annual "Celebration of Excellence" awards dinner and auction.
Chamber officials say they'll also present a Lifetime Achievement Award, although the recipient of that honor is being kept secret for now.
In addition to dinner, dancing and the awards program, the gala event will feature live and silent auctions. Only 50 tickets will be sold for the evening's big prize: a trip for two to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, including airfare and hotel for three nights, VIP tours, a "Shuttle Launch Experience" and lunch with an astronaut. The package has a retail value of $5,695.
Tickets still are available for the gathering, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on March 18 (cocktails will be served starting at 5 p.m.) at the Oregon Golf Club, 25700 SW Petes Mountain Road in West Linn. Seating is limited and reservations are required.
Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased online at lakeoswegocc.ejoinme.org/MyEvents/AnnualAwardsDinnerAuction2017/tabid/848643/Default.aspx or by calling 503-636-3634.
