Paving work for pipeline project will impact Lake Oswego streets next week

Weather has delayed the final paving and restoration work on McVey Avenue and at the State Street/McVey Avenue intersection until next week, according to officials with the Lake Oswego-Tigard Water Partnership.

Crews now plan to pave McVey Avenue from Erickson Street to State Street and the McVey Avenue/State Street intersection between Monday, May 9, and Wednesday, May 11. The work is scheduled to take place at night — from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. — and will include preparing and grinding the existing asphalt and placing the new pavement.

During part of the work, the traffic signal at the McVey Avenue/State Street intersection will be turned off and traffic lanes will be closed to allow equipment to operate and the new pavement to dry. Flaggers will be in place and drivers should expect delays, officials said.

Once the paving work is complete, striping and traffic signal loops will be installed. All of the work is dependent on the weather, officials said.
