11/4/13 6:47 a.m. A driver hit a median sign and a deer after going through a sign on Cherry Lane and Highway 43. His BMW was damaged and had to be towed to a garage.

11/5/13 1:34 p.m. A 20-year-old man was cited and released on a theft charge.

11/5/13 3:07 p.m. An apartment resident on Jefferson Parkway was robbed of a checkbook, Social Security card, passport, credit and bank cards and legal documents.

11/5/13 4:48 p.m. A call from the Amsterdam Police Department informed local police that a business name was possibly being used in an international scam.

11/6/13 12:29 p.m. A thief that is into yard decorating stole miscellaneous plants, ceramic mushrooms, a large fern topiary, flower baskets and a white pumpkin.

11/7/13 10:41 a.m. A house on Ridgetop Court was robbed of its yard decorations overnight.

11/7/13 12:15 p.m. Cushions and a candleholder were stolen off a porch on Amberwood Court. Value of the items was $300.

11/7/13 2 p.m. A bench and Halloween decorations, valued at $100, were stolen on Sunbrook Drive.

11/2/13 10:06 p.m. A man with a crowbar aroused worry in a woman. But it turned out he was actually carrying a flute.

11/3/13 9:31 a.m. A coyote was carrying around a dead cat on Bryant Road.

11/3/13 10:15 a.m. An 18-year-old brother is sending harassing texts to a sibling.

11/3/13 12:32 p.m. An outbreak of coyotes killing cats happened on Cobb Way. A neighbor found a cat killed by a coyote, and then another neighbor saw another coyote drag a cat away. The coyote was described as the size of a German shepherd and possibly dangerous.

11/3/13 2:50 p.m. A 12-year-old vandal is making and setting off dry ice bombs and rolling them down a hill until they explode on Kingsgate Road.

11/6/13 8:38 a.m. A delightful Halloween decoration — a 4- to 5-foot-tall scarecrow stuffed with hay — was taken overnight from Westfield Court.

11/6/13 8:45 a.m. After three scarecrows were taken from a yard on Westfield Court overnight, extra police patrols were requested.

11/6/13 9:19 a.m. The sound of loud popping was disturbing neighbors on Wall Street. It turned out to be a generator backfiring.

11/6/13 8:17 p.m. A man is up the creek because his ex-girlfriend took his key and is refusing to give him his things back.

11/7/13 9:46 a.m. A vandal smashed in a window of a car parked on Meadows Road, causing $500 in damage.

FRAUD

10/29/13 2:33 p.m. A man received a check in the mail stating he had sold something off of Craigslist. Except he hadn’t.

11/1/13 11:08 a.m. A woman received a check from a business that was signed by a person unauthorized to sign it.

11/1/13 11:09 a.m. There were two large unauthorized charges made on two accounts, $1,000 to Home Depot and $1,000 to Kohl’s. There were also attempts made to establish credit at both businesses.

11/6/13 12:37 p.m. A man having an episode of mental dimness accidentally gave out his credit card information over the phone to someone not connected to the hotel front desk which he had actually meant to call.

11/6/13 1:53 p.m. A toy store reported that two large business account checks were cashed without authorization.
