Riverdale High School celebrates all grads and spotlights its eight Top Scholars.

Eight graduates also were honored as Top Scholars, including valedictorian Dimitra Fellman and salutatorian Timothy Gentry. Learn about all of their future plans and achievements:

Dimitra Fellman

(Valedictorian)

Future Plans: To attend medical school and become a doctor specializing in infectious diseases

Planned Area of Study: Biology and dance

Academic Accomplishments: 2017 Dr. Karen E. Hoppes Young Historians Second Place For Outstanding Research and Writing Award, National Honor Society, Scholastic Art Awards: Honorable Mention

Extracurriculars: Westside Dance Academy Performing Company, NCSY (A Jewish Youth Organization), Jewish Student Union President, Yearbook, Science Bowl.

Timothy Gentry

(Salutatorian)

Future plans: Montana State University Honors College

Planned area of study: Studying mechanical engineering

Academic accomplishments: National Merit commended student

Extracurriculars: Climbing with Post 58, student columnist for LO Review, student president of Riverdale Outdoor Program

Sports: Varsity cross-country, varsity track

Music: Piano for 13 years

Lilah Abrams

Future plans: Occidental College

Planned area of study: Political science

Academic accomplishments: National Merit Commended Scholar, National Honors Society Member, Lewis & Clark College Templeton Scholar

Extracurriculars: Ambassador for Riverdale's Model United Nations Club, student representative on Riverdale's Site Council, volunteer instructor for the SUN Program at Jackson Middle School, educational assistant for the First Door Program, former intern at Sen. Ron Wyden's office, crisis-line worker at Youthline, volunteer at The Bus Project and volunteer at the Oregon Foundation for Reproductive Health

Sports: Four-year varsity soccer (senior captain), four-year varsity track, three-year varsity cross-country

Simon Chuang

Future plans: U.S. Naval Academy

Planned area of study: Aeronautical engineering

Academic accomplishments: National Honor Society president, 4.0 GPA, wrote my senior research paper on the "Effects of Parenting on Self-Reliance"

Extracurriculars: Cadet Major in Civil Air Patrol and cadet commander of Aurora Composite Squadron, attended Camp Pasquaney, volunteer with Portland Neighborhood House

Sports: Varsity soccer and track and field

Nikki Kostur

Future plans: Davidson College

Planned area of study: Biology/environmental science

Academic accomplishments: National Honor Society

Extracurriculars: Intern at the Pharmacology and Physiology Laboratory at Oregon Health & Science University, involved in Portland's iMatter Campaign, led a service trip to Arequipa in Peru, Riverdale Model United Nations ambassador; founder of Miniscape company (a terrarium company)

Sports: Cross-country and track

Allison Marie Molinari

Future plans: Knox College

Planned area of study: Undecided, but possibly mathematics or physics

Academic accomplishments: 4.0 GPA, National Honor Society, Knox Lincoln Scholarship, Knox Presidential Finalist Scholarship, Knox Founders Scholarship

Extracurriculars: Yearbook (four years) yearbook editor for junior and senior year, Principal's Advisory Council (two years)

Sports: Four-year varsity volleyball; team captain junior and senior year during four years on varsity basketball; team captain junior and senior year during four years on varsity tennis

Music: Piano lessons for 13 years and took choir and band classes

Jack Reamy

Future plans: Prosthetics

Planned area of study: Engineering

Academic accomplishments: Graduating

Extracurriculars: I've also done Mock Trial and Science Bowl and Science Olympiad.

Sports: Cross-country

Music: I'm a singer/songwriter (and play guitar) 

Ben Richmond

Future plans: Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service

Planned area of study: International politics

Academic accomplishments: Honorable Mention, for the state of Oregon, 2014, United States Institute of Peace Essay Contest; National Honor Society 2015 - 2017

Extracurriculars: Eagle Scout, BSA Troop 110; Model United Nations, Chief Executive; Site Council, Member

Sports: Varsity tennis, all four years

Music/theater: In choir; and involved in theater in three one-act plays: "Who's On First" (Abbot & Costello); "Words, Words, Words" by David Ives; "Almost, Maine" by John Cariani; and two musicals: "Fiddler on the Roof"; "The Pajama Game"
