County bar announces officers for 2014

Clackamas lawyer Lisa Almasy Miller has been named president of the Clackamas County Bar Association for 2014. She takes over for William C. Knox III.

Vice president for 2014 is Steve Kelly of Oregon City, treasurer is Tom Noble of West Linn and secretary is Angela Laidlaw of West Linn. David Robinson of Milwaukie is on the board as a member at large.

Miller, a 1983 graduate of Santa Clara University, serves as a mediator in civil and family law cases and arbitrates civil disputes. She is a Clackamas County pro tem judge and was recently approved by the Oregon Supreme Court to serve as a reference judge. She also serves as secretary of the Oregon State Bar’s Client Security Fund Committee and is a member of the Multnomah County Arbitration Commission.

Kelly graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1981 and has practiced law in Oregon ever since. Kelly’s practice includes criminal defense, domestic relations and personal injury cases. He also serves as an arbitrator in civil disputes.

This is Noble’s second year as treasurer of the CCBA. Noble works with his father, C. Richard Noble, at the Oregon Legal Center in West Linn. His practice focuses on estate planning, probate, trust administration and fiduciary litigation. While attending the University of Oregon Law School, he clerked for the Oregon Department of Justice in the Child Advocacy Division.

Laidlaw is the managing partner of Laidlaw & Laidlaw PC. She handles domestic relations/family law cases as a mediator and collaborative law practitioner. A graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, Laidlaw and her husband, Alec, opened their firm in West Linn in 2007. She has taught paralegal courses at Pioneer Pacific College and served on the board of directors for Bradley Angle House, an organization dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence.

Robinson is a 2011 admittee to the Oregon State Bar, having moved here from Virginia. Robinson’s practice focuses primarily on criminal defense. Additionally, he handles civil plaintiff’s personal injury cases with the Lake Oswego firm of Glazer, Maurer & Peterson PC.
