Christmas party turns violent in Aloha

On Christmas day, deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man believed to have stabbed an Aloha man with a knife. The suspect was captured as he was attempting to flee the area.

Deputies were called to the 3900 block of S.W. Pinewood Way in Aloha Dec. 25 at 12:25 a.m. concerning an assault. A woman had called 911 and alleged that her boyfriend had stabbed her 40-year-old ex-husband, Javier Hernandez-Gonzalez of Aloha, in her residence.

Responding deputies were told the boyfriend — identified as Diubel Navarro-Gonzalez, 31, from Portland — fled the scene in a white Ford Explorer.

Deputies converged to the residence as others attempted to locate Navarro-Gonzalez. While deputies were at the residence, another deputy located the Explorer driven by Navarro-Gonzalez travelling eastbound through the city of Beaverton. WCSO deputies, assisted by officers with the Beaverton Police Department, were able to stop Navarro-Gonzalez and take him into custody without further incident.

Deputies allegedly found a significant amount of evidence in the vehicle to connect Navarro-Gonzalez to the stabbing.

Hernandez-Gonzalez was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition suffering from multiple upper body injuries.

Detectives with the Washington County Violent Crimes Division assisted with the investigation.

It is believed the two men were at the house for a holiday celebration when an argument broke out prior to the stabbing.

Navarro-Gonzalez was lodged in the Washington County Jail and charged with second degree felony assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He is held on $250,000 bail. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues, officials said.
