City plans open house for three police chief candidates

The city of Hillsboro will host a two hour open house with the three finalists for the Hillsboro Police Department’s open police chief position.

“All the candidates will be there,” said Hillsboro City Manager Michael Brown. “There is no real structure, just an opportunity to interact with the candidates. This will give everybody in the community a chance to talk with the candidates before the final decision is made. This is an important step in the process.”

The three finalists are Lee Dobrowolski, David Kirby and Brian Martinek.

“There is no presentation and no agenda,” said Patrick Preston, Hillsboro’s public affairs manager. “We want to encourage everyone to participate in the recruitment process.”

The open house will be held in the Event Room on the second floor of the Hillsboro Main Library on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
