PORTLAND — The David Douglas volleyball team scored a 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 sweep over Reynolds on Thursday night, closing out the match by claiming a tight final set that saw the lead flip-flop a few times.

The Scots rallied from an early four-point deficit to go up 19-17 in the late stages after Maddy Hall hit a kill through the middle for a side out, then stepped to the service line and dealt an ace.

Douglas maintained the upper hand when Rylee Sneath banged a kill off a Reynolds player in the back row that deflected forward and clipped the antennae on the side of the net out of play.

Sneath rose up in the middle and came up with a block to put away the Scots' first chance at match point, as the ball trickled off a couple players and fell to the floor.

"I could see the look of defeat on the faces across the net, and I knew it was ours," Sneath said.

The Scots travel to reigning 6A champ Central Catholic on Monday, while Reynolds hosts Barlow.
