SANDY — It was a wild end to the summer season for both the Sandy and Corbett boys' basketball teams.
Dylan Oliver led Corbett with a game-high 29 points, but it wasn't enough as the Pioneers prevailed with a 76-74 overtime victory at Sandy High School on Wednesday night.
Sandy built a 14-point halftime lead, but eight straight points by Corbett's Dylan Oliver trimmed the lead to 55-54 with just over two minutes to play.
Sandy held a three-point lead with under 10 seconds left in regulation, but on Corbett's last possession of the fourth, Dylan Paintner sprinted down the court and drilled a step-back trey to force overtime.
In the end, it wasn't enough as Sandy went on an 8-0 run to start the overtime period, thanks to five quick points from Wyatt Fisher, and the Pioneers were just able to pull away for the win.
