The Apollos pull away with five TDs in the second half
Unable to slow Sunsets passing game for most of the first half, Barlow appeared to turn the tide when Hunter Roeder came down with an interception shortly before halftime.
But in reality, the Bruins had just poked a hornets nest.
Sunset came out of intermission fired up and found the end zone five times in the second half to run away with a 51-17 win.
Barlow took an early 3-0 lead when its opening drive ended in a 30-yard field goal by Zach Standish. But the Bruins wouldnt stay ahead for long.
Little more than a minute later, Sunset QB Willy Pflug fired a 23-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Bieber the first of three long scoring strikes in the first half.
Barlow clawed back into the game with its first touchdown of the season when running back Speedy Sanchez found his way over the goal line from 1 yard out.
The Bruins had a chance to pull closer after Roeders interception near the end of the half. Roeder came up big again with a 17-yard catch that put Barlow on the edge of field goal range for Standish with :04 on the clock. But his attempt was blocked by Sunsets 6-foot-6 lineman Josh Brown.
