Edgefield celebrates St. Patrick's Day 'across the land'
McMenamin's Edgefield is going all out for this weekend's St. Patrick's Day celebration. As part of "St. Patrick's Day Across the Land," the brewery will host events at many of its venues in the Portland area. The Edgefield location, 2126 S.W. Halsey St., Troutdale, will present more than dozen live music performances starting at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, March 17-18. Bands from the Portland area and beyond will play Irish and folk music throughout the day at its three venue locations — the Loading Dock, the Little Red Shed, and the Winery Tasting Room (which is 21 plus). The festival also includes face painting from 1-4 p.m. by artist Amanda Kill, as well as Irish dancers starting from 1-1:30 p.m at the Loading Dock.
Also as part of the festivities, McMenamin's will host a golf tournament on its pub courses starting at 1 p.m. All skill levels and ages are welcome, and winners will receive prizes of gift cards, T-shirts, and more. Visitors should register beforehand and head to the distillery bar at noon on St Patrick's Day.
Tickets for the tournament are $30 and can be purchased online, a link to which can be found at mcmenamins.com/events.
And if you want to venture to Portland, the All-Ireland Cultural Society of Oregon is hosting its 76th-annual celebration at Aquinas Hall, 1333 N.E. Martin Luther King Junior Blvd., Portland. Doors open at 4:30, and events include puppet shows, live music, step dancers, and a live raffle.
Tickets are $12 for ages 19 and older, $4 for ages 3 to 18 and free for 2-year-olds and younger. For more information contact the AICS at 503-286-4812 or visit oregonirishsociety.org.
