RingSide Grill closes its doors
East Portland's venerable RingSide Grill was slammed with customers Wednesday evening, it's last day of operation at Glendoveer Golf Course at Northeast 140th and Division Street.
COMMENTMy grandparents had their 50th wedding anniversary there. Now that they've both passed away, RingSide has always had a special place in my heart.
COMMENTLoved your hospitality and great food over the years! Thanks RingSide!
State economists: Taxpayers can expect a 'kicker'
Oregon will return nearly $464 million to taxpayers as revenue collections exceeded estimates.
COMMENTThe shame is Oregon was actually doing better than our economic forecasters predicted. The budgets could have been higher, the shortfall not as high. We have an interesting system that forces a two-year out guess.
Drivers cited for crosswalk violations
Deputies handed out 12 citations for failure to stop for a pedestrian during the operation.
COMMENTPedestrians and bicyclists still need to remember that drivers are human and make mistakes. I wish some of them had just a bit more survival instinct.
OPINION: No more delays on Stark Street
We hope Multnomah County officials hold contractors accountable to meeting their deadline.
COMMENTIt will be interesting to see exactly how many salmon these businesses have sacrificed for. I sure hope someone will be keeping track.
COMMENTThe veggie stand at the corner has already closed! They had a sign up begging for customers. Granted it's a hassle to take the detour, but people need to get out there and support these businesses. DQ has seen at least more than 50 percent drop in sales. So take your kiddos out for ice cream!

COMMENTIt's comical reading stories like this. The news always makes the contractor look at fault and never factors in delays caused by engineering, permitting or other factors that the contractor has absolutely no control over.
