Mt. Hood college honors Suburban Auto's Jaksich
Nancy Jaksich of Suburban Auto Group in Sandy was named the Mt. Hood Patron Saint for 2017, MHCC president Debbie Derr announced Wednesday.
"It is because of her undying support of MHCC students that we honor Nancy with the Mt. Hood Community College Patron Saint Award," said Derr.
Jaksich joined the Mt. Hood Community College Foundation board in 2007. She has served as secretary, vice president and president of the foundation over the years. She also has sat on the foundation's auction, finance and executive committees.
In addition to hundreds of volunteer hours supporting student scholarships and classroom equipment, Jaksich has donated tens of thousands of dollars to support the foundation. Jaksich and her husband, Jerry, have sponsored many foundation events, including the annual fundraising auction.
The Patron Saint award has been given to distinguished supporters of Mt. Hood Community College since 1968. The honor recognizes individuals who have performed outstanding volunteer work and/or made generous contributions to the college. Former Gov. Barbara Roberts, and local luminaries Glen Otto, Diane McKeel, and Junki and Linda Yoshida are among the Patron Saints honored in past years.
A ceremony honoring Jaksich will take place at the MHCC President's Garden Party on Sunday, June 4, at the Yoshida Estate in Troutdale. For ticket information, visit mhcc.edu/foundation.
