SLIDESHOW: East county dancers place at OSAA state championships

The 2017 OSAA State Dance and Drill Championships were held March 16-18, at Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in Portland.

Locally, Sam Barlow took seventh place in the team standings, with Gresham coming in eighth, one spot behind their crosstown rivals. Individually, Mariah Garcia of Gresham finished fourth overall individually in Thursday's Drill Down portion of the competion, with teammate Jaelene Chavez coming in sixth. The following day, Stefany Morales of Reynolds High School took fifth place individually in the drill down, held after each day's preliminary rounds of the team competition.
