Clackamas Fire frees victim trapped in a van; hazmat unit dispatched to protect a nearby waterway from a large diesel spill that occurred

A man was pinned in a full-size van after it was involved in a T-bone crash with a dump truck.

PHOTO COURTESY: CLACKAMAS FIRE - A man was pinned in this full-size van after it crashed at the intersection of 242nd Avenue and Hoffmeister Road On Thursday, Feb. 16, at approximately 1:51 p.m. Clackamas Fire was dispatched to the intersection of 242nd Avenue and Hoffmeister Road to a reported heavy impact crash. Two engines, a truck, a heavy rescue and a command unit from CFD#1 responded to the scene.

Clackamas Fire spokesman Jeff Smith said that crews quickly freed the victim, and he was transported to a trauma hospital by ground ambulance. His condition is unknown at this time.
