Salvation Army to break ground Friday for expansion at Rockwood facility

The public is invited to the Salvation Army Gresham Center for a groundbreaking ceremony at 9:15 a.m., Friday, May 16 at 473 S.E. 194th Avenue for additional 240 percent of program space. The expansion will mean a new commercial kitchen, 100-seat dining room, increased food storage and distribution area, “shopping style” food pantry, case-management and family services offices, a covered outdoor gymnasium and more recreational activities.

The increase of more than 13,000 square feet will allow the Salvation Army to feed more people in the Rockwood neighborhood and provide more recreational activities for underprivileged young people. For more information contact Teresa Steinmetz at 971-219-3226.
